Job Description
Annalect is an international company with branches in major metropolises around the globe including New York, London, Melbourne, and Auckland.
Annalect clients include some of the largest companies in NZ. As such, our clients spend millions of dollars on promoting their products and services across different media channels (TV, radio, search engines, social media, etc.). We provide services that both explain what was the impact of the client's marketing effort and guide decisions makers on how to spend their budget effectively.
Currently, we are looking for an entry-level Data Scientist, based at our Auckland office, who has a strong academic background in Statistics. We offer mentorship, real-world experience, and room to grow to get you ready for the next step in your career (which will hopefully be in Annalect too).
Start date - ASAP, but this is flexible for the right person.
This is a permanent position and is open to valid NZ work visa holders.

Position Purpose:
Run pre-built marketing science models to produce actionable insights for clients.
Conduct additional data analyses to answer ad hoc questions from internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate results of analyses to clients via written documents (emails, PowerPoint files, etc.) and potentially in-person presentations.
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure insights are actioned as far as possible.
Develop media and data science skillsets through formal or self-led training.
Actively engage in knowledge-sharing and ideation with members of the Data Science and wider Annalect team.
As experience grows, look for opportunities to streamline and automate existing data science products.
Be proactive about getting data and information required to complete deliverables in a timely fashion, which may involve ‘chasing' internal and external data providers.
Comply with Annalect security standards in the way we maintain records of original data or corrected data in an acceptable manner.
Manage and resolve all internal and external data deliverables in a timely and accurate manner.
Skills and Experience:
Strong academic background in Statistics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of R. Knowledge of Python, and SQL will also be regarded.
Hunger to learn analytical methods, the media industry and our clients' businesses.
A willingness to always ask questions when uncertain.
Ability to be proactive about getting data from our internal and external providers.
Ability to meet established deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
