The Apex Legends™ QA Play Tester Role:

The Apex Legends QA Play Testers fulfill an important role at EA by providing feedback that helps us better understand the Apex Legends player experience. With a particular focus on playability and gameplay balance, an Apex Legends™ QA Play Tester will work alongside the Apex QA and Development teams to identify opportunities to ensure each new Apex Legends™ release is exciting for all players.

Apex Legends™ QA Play Tester Responsibilities:

An Apex Legends™ QA Play Tester supports the development of Apex Legends™ by always being available in the game, to test out new features including new Legends characters, maps, items, and gameplay modes. This role goes beyond usual testing, everything you will do will be focused on playability, gameplay balance while proactively preempting game play strategy

As part of a specialized team, you will collaborate with your teammates to achieve the goals for the game sessions as set out by your lead. During a typical day you will be expected to attend team meetings, track your time, share feedback, and most of all, play Apex Legends™.

The next great Apex Legends™ QA Play Tester:

You are the voice of the Apex Legends™ player. You have a passion for Apex, the competitive shooter genre, and understand the Apex Legends™ community. You can adapt your playstyle from casual to hardcore, first-time player to seasoned veteran and your passionate about providing feedback that helps make Apex Legends fantastic for everyone.

You will have a strong understanding of Apex Legends™ and similar titles. You understand what 'meta' means and maybe you play competitively, or you love to min/max. Most of all you are a passionate gamer: you follow the trends, the latest gaming news, and have a pulse on the player community.

You are a strategic thinker, detail oriented, a team player, respectful of confidentiality, able to provide clear and timely feedback, and comfortable with playing a lot of Apex!

Foundational requirements:

high school diploma or equivalent.

must be 18 years of age or older.

basic knowledge of PC hardware, software, game consoles; and

basic knowledge of Google and/or Microsoft office software (spreadsheets, e-mail, calendar, etc.)

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The hourly pay ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the hourly pay range for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

The hourly rate is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to temporary full-time employees working 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

    Participate in and support capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for enterprise storage in conjunction with data owners and department managers

 

Acquisition & Deployment

    Work with systems and database administrators to implement storage architectures that utilize industry best practices including Information Lifecycle Management, Hierarchical Storage Management, etc.
    Install and configure storage devices and corresponding software
    Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets
    Establish appropriate end-user access control levels for stored data

 

Operational Management

    Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, security, and availability
    Perform and test backups and restores to ensure that enterprise data is effectively protected
    Communicate and enforce, through system procedures, data storage retention policies
    Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to storage appliances and software
    Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve issues with storage devices, storage access, and data retrieval
    Research and make recommendations on storage products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
    Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements to the IT storage team
    Develop routines for end-users to facilitate storage best practices
    Remain informed on storage laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices; advise, counsel, and educate executive and management teams on their relative importance
    Ensure that information storage measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations
    Perform storage server/database transaction and security audits leading to identification and mitigation of security threats to enterprise data. Recommend and implement changes where necessary
    Create required reports in response to business user needs

Position Requirements:

 

Formal Education & Certification

    Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related is preferred

Knowledge & Experience

    Excellent understanding of storage architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices

Job Description

The Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) is responsible for providing administrative, technical and legal support to all 94 United States Attorneys' Offices (USAOs) located in over 200 geographically dispersed sites throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Guam, the Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The EOUSA Office Automation (OA), Telecommunications and Technology Development (TTD), and Case Management (CM) and Information Systems Security (ISS) Staffs provide for the identification and analysis of the business needs/requirements to USAOs necessary for the design, development, and deployment of secure office automation, wide and local area networking, case management and other applications. However, all four of these staff must rely on contractors to deliver many of the high-level technical services needed to maintain the technology deployed in EOUSA and USAOs.

SCOPE OF WORK

    Troubleshoots hardware, software, printers, and network issues
    Performs Active Directory administration
    Application Support and Administration (Microsoft Windows 10; Microsoft Server 2012 R2 and Microsoft Server 2016; Microsoft Office 2016 including Outlook and Microsoft Exchange)
    Executes basic Cisco switch administration using PuTTY and/or Cisco Prime
    Mobile Device Support (AirWatch software supporting iOS devices including iPads and iPhones)
    Supports in System Center Service Manager (SCSM) ticketing software
    VMware and/or vSphere administration;
    Utilizes Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012 for imaging, application installs and security updates; and troubleshooting EVoIP phones.

Qualifications:

Job Summary

Accountable for defining and delivering our enterprise cloud governance model. Leads the definition of the desired target state and creates the associated roadmaps and consults internal IT staff on infrastructure and cloud related initiatives.  Works with the latest technologies through vendor relationships and proof of concepts, solving large complex problems, and defining new technology enabled opportunities. Works closely with Engineering, Security, Development, and Enterprise Application owners to ensure the design, implementation, and integration of technologies within each team are aligned to meet industry standards, help achieve our strategic goals, and bring these teams together to ensure development and adoption of technologies integrate and work seamlessly.
Responsibilities

Essential Functions

    Serves as lead of our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and is responsible for defining and delivering our enterprise cloud governance model.
    Recommends Information Technology and cloud solutions and/or strategies by using technical breadth across multiple areas.
    Manages strategic alliances among partners, key business stakeholders, and IT teams to promote adoption and interoperability of applications and infrastructure solutions in a cloud environment.  
    Identifies new product features and feature gaps, provides guidance on existing product issues, and collaborates with Engineering, Development, and Security teams in solution creation to influence the growth of the cloud adoption.
    Serves as a technical leader undertaking complex initiatives requiring specialized technical knowledge.
    Partners across business and technology disciplines to present and deliver the needed architectures focusing on a cloud first mentality.
    Leads discussions with key stakeholders to design a hybrid cloud disaster recovery (DR) strategy and guides internal and external resources through deployment and testing processes.
    Participates as part of our enterprise DR leadership team to ensure business outcomes are met through proper infrastructure design and testing methodologies.
    Works with strategic vendors and partners to review and influence product roadmaps, strategies, execute PoC’s, and identify gaps and solutions.
    Responsible for generating and maintaining IT standards and procedures.

Non-essential Functions

    Participates in industry-related conferences and events.
    Provides technical and professional leadership via coaching moments to fellow employee-owners.
    Remains informed of industry trends, technology products, best practices, strategies, and services.
    Assists in negotiating vendor agreements.  
    Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.

Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent and related work experience.
    5+ years of experience in cloud specific IT functions.
    Technical expert in cloud and on-prem computing, storage and networking architecture.
    Deep understanding of various services and solutions - DRaaS, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS including all cloud models (public, private, hybrid, multi).
    Deep level architecture knowledge of the leading public cloud providers.
    Demonstrated ability to lift and shift existing applications to public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
    Expert level understanding of on-premise/edge infrastructure design (storage, compute, network).
    Expert level understanding of current vendor technology offerings in the hybrid cloud space.
