About the Role:

This role is for a personable candidate who is comfortable with speaking to various individuals from different facets of the business, They must be interested in continually learning and improving their skills and enjoy not being in their comfort zone to continually develop. The purpose of this role is to support and respond to Black Dog Institute employee IT needs with compassion and skill.


Key Duties:

• Manage on-site and remote IT support tickets including maintenance of accurate and timely incident logs in the ticketing system and determining priority level.

• Resolve tier 3 support requests including troubleshooting and management of systems and devices for Windows and Apple computers.

• Delegate or escalate other support requests as necessary.

• Create and maintain system documentation and training materials.

• Deliver training sessions for new and existing staff on digital technology used at Black Dog.

• Coordinate IT requirements for new starters including IT onboarding.

• Coordinate and track IT assets and access when off-boarding staff, students and other IT users.

• Coordinate and track purchase of new hardware, mobile phone plans and land line phone requirements and manage IT asset register.

• Assist in managing the network infrastructure

• Manage AV requirements for meeting rooms.

About You:

The successful candidate will have the following:


Essential Criteria


1. 3+ years experience or qualifications in IT support roles within Microsoft Windows and Mac environments.

2. Demonstrated experience providing outstanding customer service by creating and maintaining productive relationships with a variety of internal/external stakeholders.

3. Excellent oral and written communications skills.

4. Ability to work proactively and independently using exceptional problem-solving skills with proven troubleshooting abilities.

5. Effective time management and organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt as necessary to changing priorities.

6. Knowledge of EEO principles and OH&S responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant OH&S training.


Desirable Criteria


1. ITIL certification.

2. Competence in using Microsoft Teams technology, alongside the latest interactive online tools.

3. Previous experience of working in a not-for-profit organization.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join the team to support our WestConnex Rozelle Interchange and Western Harbour Tunnel Enabling Works project. Based between our Rozelle and Rhodes site offices. 

 

This is not your average IT Support Technician role - you will be customer facing and solutions focused in supporting users across different sites and locations. You will be curious, energetic, and diligent, and motivated by resolving issues through engaging with users, understanding their needs, and applying break fixes. You will be responsible for supporting our technical infrastructure, daily end user support and maintenance and administration of IT Systems in a diligent and responsive manner to ensure a high level of service to the business.


Responsibilities of the role include;


Supporting all systems, applications and infrastructure under out IT Service Delivery Model

Working to resolve Level 2 support requests, phone calls and walk-up requests

Providing support to the wider IT Team to manage, install, test and troubleshoot new technology and systems

Assisting in reviewing technologies to determine suitability for our business

Supporting SME’s in the implementation of supported applications & systems

Maintaining, assigning and reassigning IT devices and assets

Assisting in mobilisation and demobilisation of project offices

To be successful in this key role, you must demonstrate;


Tertiary qualifications in Computing or other relevant discipline

Help Desk and Level 1-2 support experience

Strong IT networking and troubleshooting skills

Active directory, Service Now, MS Teams and Office 365 experience

Strong communication skills 

Excellent time management and organisational skills
