The Challenge

In order to provide excellent ICT end user services at all times, the ICT Support Assistant ensures that operational ICT support is offered locally to end users in close cooperation with service providers. The support services are related to ICT devices (computers, tablets, smart phones, printers and VC units).

Key responsibilities are:

    Give onsite 2nd line support to end users, related to the functionality of ICT hardware equipment, telephony (PBX internal routing and mobile telephone), audio equipment and video equipment (video conferences);
    Act as intermediate between the end-user and the 1st line external IT Service Desk with respect to agreed KPI’s and SLA‘s;
    Support and stimulate end users in optimal use of the office automation facilities (hardware, business applications, mobile telephone, audio/video equipment);
    Responsible for installation, activation, handout and stock taking of ICT end user equipment (software, licenses and hardware such as laptops, mobile telephone, tablets);
    Take initiatives to come up with proposals to maximize standardization and to reduce the number of incidents;
    Liaise with the Manager ICT and other relevant stakeholders regarding improvements to the ICT infrastructure;
    Take care of the installation and internal moving of ICT desk equipment/hardware roll out;
    Assist in the execution of planned maintenance outages;
    Software license management;
    Responsible for the availability and functionality of ICT end user equipment;
    Proactively come up with improvement suggestions for ICT infrastructure and maintenance processes;

ICT infrastructure is virtualized, housed on-premise and partly hosted in the cloud. You are able to function independently as well as in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external service providers. The segregation between the remote support (provided by external service providers) and onsite ICT support makes clear procedures for end users necessary (whom to be consulted for what).
The Candidate

You combine at least an MBO degree in ICT and several years of experience working in a ICT environment. Strong affinity with the ICT and support, you have broadened your knowledge by courses like ITIL, Microsoft certifications, Windows Client etc.

You have knowledge about networking infrastructure, MS office/exchange, Active directory, Sharepoint. Knowledge of telephony (PBX internal routing and mobile telephone), audio equipment and video equipment (video conferences) is preferable.

You are fluent in English both spoken and written. You have excellent analytical and practical thinking skills, also you are the best at troubleshooting and are a strong communicator.

You are interested in learning and developing further within IT Field, and you have a natural interest in new technologies in the field of ICT, audio, video and mobile telephone for business applications.

    Practical object-oriented development knowledge and programming language / tools (C#, Python, Java, PowerShell etc.)
    Familiarity with containerization technologies and public cloud delivery know-how
    CI/CD Pipelines knowledge
    Knowledge of web services and APIs

ROLE PURPOSE:

 

IT Analyst is mainly responsible for the overall health & smooth running of computer systems’ infrastructure and locally maintained & supported business applications at Hydro location(s) with the purpose to ensure Business users gain maximum benefits from those systems. This goal shall be achieved by full adherence to Hydro Global IT Architecture Standards & Global and Local Operational processes, as well as by maximizing the leverage of Central IT operational services and tools.

 

As IT professional of Hydro Shared Services, the IT Analyst serves as Shared Services’ interface to the Location Business Customers. As such shall in any IT related decision making, he/she promote Global IT standards and in general standardization of IT tools to the Business.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

For systems that are either location specific or centrally managed & shared:

    Acting as Location representative of Hydro Shared Services IT professionals towards location Business Customers for any such computer systems
    Installing or participating in installation of computer hardware, operating systems, applications and any other IT infrastructure components used at the location(s)
    Monitoring and maintaining location specific computer systems, networks and Applications with compliance of Central and Local IT Operational processes
    Taking active part in incident resolution flow through a series of actions
    Working with global support teams to resolve both IT infrastructure and Application related issues
    Taking part in IT systems change management flow
    Troubleshooting IT Infrastructure incidents and Application errors, diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
    Replacing parts as required and maintaining user accounts within the locally supported Applications
    Maintaining location specific IT documentations; keeping SW licenses and HW inventory  up to date
    Providing IT infrastructure support for and taking part in the roll-out of new Applications
    Prioritizing work and - in general - operating with compliance of SSS IT Service Level Agreement
    Complying with SSS IT and Controlling policies in new HW or SW aquisitions at location(s)
    Maintaining the location specific part of the Active Directory
    Complying with SSS Global IT Architecture; Global & Local Operational and Global IT Security processes and policies

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

    Fluent Dutch and English language knowledge
    Min. 5 years’ work experience on the field of IT Infrastructure
    IT Technician qualification is a must; IT Engineer or equivalent is preferred
    Exposure to and understanding of a manufacturing environment is preferred
    ITIL Certification is preferred
    Detailed understanding of Microsoft Client & Server Technology as well as the Applications in scope of the incumbent responsibilities is a minimum
    Additional IT Infrastructure & Application disciplines are preferred (i.e Networking; windows 10, etc.)
    PRINCE2 knowledge/certification is preferred
    Experience in basic Vendor management processes is preferred

    What are we looking for?

    A Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems or equivalent education.
    Around 4 years of experience in IT security related topics.
    Expert analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of best practices to prevent a wide range of security threats.
    Proven track of information security policies creation & governance (e.g. IT access management).
    Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions and IT assets lifecycle management (licenses review, patches revision, etc)
    Successful track record of internal/external audits reporting, collecting evidence & collaborating with several teams to fulfil the needed IT general controls.
    Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to secure our computing resources.
    Experience in working with multiple competing stakeholders and priorities.
    Professional information security certified is a plus.

About the role

The Desktop Support Analyst is responsible for supporting daily operations, which encompasses Windows Server services, enterprise applications, desktop and mobile services.

Your key accountabilities will include:

• Provide user facing operational support for desktops and applications. Contribute to the resolution of operational problems by working collaboratively with virtual peers.
