Introduction:


    As an IT Security Officer, you are an analytical and problem-solving technologist, who builds understanding and awareness of IT security issues throughout the organization and a tactful team player who knows how to collaborate with other IT professionals and develop security solutions.

    The Challenge
        Safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
        Assess the organization’s security measures, such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and passwords, to identify any weak points that might make systems vulnerable to attack.
        Protect system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources in accordance with Shimano Compliance guidelines
        Recognize problems by identifying abnormalities, reporting violations or security breaches as well as assess their damages.
        Implement security improvements by assessing current situation, evaluating trends, anticipating requirements.
        Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting proactive periodic system checks in prep for audits (internal/external), including ERP scope.
        Create and govern the IT Security and Asset Management policies, including both hardware and software lifecycle, licensing & patch management.
        Partner with other IT/business areas on upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security controls.
        Keep stakeholders informed by preparing access/security/licenses/patching reports, communicating status.
        Create and own IT Security awareness curriculum for continuous education of the organization.
        Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.

    What are we looking for?

    A Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information systems or equivalent education.
    Around 4 years of experience in IT security related topics.
    Expert analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of best practices to prevent a wide range of security threats.
    Proven track of information security policies creation & governance (e.g. IT access management).
    Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions and IT assets lifecycle management (licenses review, patches revision, etc)
    Successful track record of internal/external audits reporting, collecting evidence & collaborating with several teams to fulfil the needed IT general controls.
    Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to secure our computing resources.
    Experience in working with multiple competing stakeholders and priorities.
    Professional information security certified is a plus.
     

    You have the ability to successfully manage multiple critical issues simultaneously.
    You are able to influence, negotiate and communicate with both external customers and internal stakeholders.
    You have the ability to influence and lead senior leadership teams.
    You are familiar with working in a complex, high-profile and rapidly changing environment.
    You are a team player.
    You have excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills (multi-language skills are a plus)
    Not expected domestic or international travel.

About the role

The Desktop Support Analyst is responsible for supporting daily operations, which encompasses Windows Server services, enterprise applications, desktop and mobile services.

Your key accountabilities will include:

• Provide user facing operational support for desktops and applications. Contribute to the resolution of operational problems by working collaboratively with virtual peers.

• Resolve ITSC tickets within agreed timeframes and ensure all tickets are correctly documented.

• Conduct Queue Management activities, including the management and auditing of the Incident and Service Request queues on a daily basis, and monitoring and alerting managers on trends.

• Conduct proactive maintenance and administration of designated services, including: implementation, configuration, and monitoring.

• Test and deploy software updates and security patches to servers and workstations.

• Collaborate with other IT service teams and the Procurement team on lifecycle management to ensure that local IT assets are fully and effectively used during their effective life.

• Support corporate policies, procedures and best practices pertinent to supporting Stantec’s Infrastructure

• Contribute to internal IT Operational/Infrastructure initiatives.

• Participate in IT projects as an operational resource, providing recommendations and performing tasks as required.

• Contribute to the development of operational procedures and documentation.

• Able to work after office hours as required.

• Able to travel across offices.

• May also have a skillset or other responsibilities in supporting Stantec infrastructure which may include but is not limited to workstation, network, server and backup.

Qualifications:

To be successful for this role you'll need:

To have recently completed a Tertiary or industry qualifications in Information Technology (or equivalent), with some experience of working in an IT environment and:-

Intermediate level of knowledge of:

o Microsoft operating systems ( Windows 7, 8,10)

o Imaging, configuring desktop and troubleshooting hardware issues

o Office 365 support

o ITIL Service Management best practices, plus

Basic understanding of:

o Microsoft server operating systems

o Office 365

o Network principals technologies and services

o Backup concepts, software/hardware technologies

To be eligible for this role you must be a permanent resident or NZ citizen. You must have valid driver’s license and passport as travel will be required, including some international.

You will be naturally curious, passionate about process improvement and able to work with minimal supervision within a geographically-dispersed team. The Role

The Thales New Zealand Operations team for the Auckland Integrated Fares System (AIFS) delivers maintenance and support services for AIFS devices and systems.  The team uses an IT Service Management tool which provides centralised planning and management of services using ITIL methodology.

The three primary operational services provided by the team are:

    Service Desk
    Maintenance and management of field devices
    Operational management and support of systems and test facility

Responsibilities

    Providing effective, reliable, and timely administrative support for assigned Business Applications.
    Provide daily support for AIFS, business applications and resolving related technical issues.
    Provide daily support for AIFS related hardware and operating systems across multiple environments.
    Lead, as a subject matter expert to provide advice as and when required for AIFS applications and infrastructure.
    Provide daily administration support for users of AIFS and other assigned applications.
    Running reports and publishing to a central location on regular basis or as requested by the Customers.
    Monitor and manage the security, capacity, load and performance of AIFS and other major Business Systems.
    Monitor and manage the interfaces and associated log files between AIFS, Devices and other major Business Systems.

Requirements

    MCSE or equivalent certification
    Exposure to automation tools such as Puppet, and monitoring systems  such as New Relic and Papertrail.
    Knowledge of ITIL practices and processes.
    Experience in ticketing or public transportation industry.
    Experience in conducting training sessions for small groups of application users.
    Exposure to Project Management environment and terminology.
    Knowledge of SQL programming language.
    Must undergo Police Security Clearance.
    Must be willing to travel to other Thales sites on an infrequent basis for relief manning, support, or training courses.
    Must hold a current Full NZ Drivers Licence.
