Job Description

As a key member of the Infrastructure and Technical Support IT team, the incumbent will manage and maintain the firm’s server infrastructure and network to ensure
its reliability, effectiveness and security. You will also assist the technical support team as level 2 contact for operational infrastructure support. Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure and Technical Support, your main responsibilities are:

Key Responsibilities

    You contribute to an evolving network architecture by managing, maintain and documenting a high availability and high efficiency multi-site network;  
    You support and maintain an integrated on-premise/cloud infrastructure with Microsoft Azure and Office 365;
    You maintain disaster recovery strategies meeting corporate recovery objectives;
    You ensure applicable IT policies, standards, and procedures are maintained and respected;
    You deploy and maintain IT infrastructure security standards based on industry best practices and/or corporate security standards;
    You configure, analyze, and resolve network and sever alerts;
    You manage maintenance windows and deploy updates across the entire infrastructure;
    You participate and/or manage IT infrastructure projects ensuring changes applied follow corporate standards and IT best practices;
    You provide level 2 or 3 technical support to users and the technical support team.

Profile Sought

Education and experience

    You have relevant college-level diploma (DEC) or attestation (AEC) with a minimum of 10 years experience as System Administrator;
    You have relevant and current Microsoft certification(s) is an asset(s).

Technical knowledge

    Thorough knowledge and proven experience in:
        Windows Server, Hyper-V, DFSR, Active Directory, Clustering
        Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams)
        Microsoft Azure and Intune
        Powershell scripting
        Network concept and Cisco/Meraki equipment
        Microsoft System Center Suite (SCCM, SCOM, SCVMM)
        Backup, VoIP and SAN systems
        Windows 10 and Office Suite

Summary of the role:

Are you the next Systems Engineer we are looking for?

    You will be reporting to the local Site Manager
    You will manage all continuing Airport IT operations at airport site and supports installed systems including responsibility for ensuring the successful continued operation of all installed computer hardware and software, including PC’s, VCD’s, servers, high profile displays, networking, databases, and operating systems in a highly visible environment on a variety of systems.

 

In this role you’ll:

    Implements Airport IT software and hardware solutions and ensures the successful continued operation of all installed computer hardware and software on a variety of systems throughout the airport.  This includes and is not limited to:
        Establishes, modifies, implements and monitors systems and procedures to enhance timely and efficient workflow
        Develops and maintains technical and project documentation
    Confers with company and airport project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems while ensuring that all problems are responded to or escalated within predefined time constraints.
    Monitors all systems daily to ensure continued 24/7 operation
    Develops and maintains technical and project documentation and coordinates all corrective and preventive maintenance, quarterly maintenance, and daily and out-of-hours work to ensure all support levels are maintained.
    Ensures efficient and effective delivery of support services to the client base and coordinates cross-team interactions to ensure service levels are maintained.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the definition, documentation and roadmap lifecycle management of the integrated on-prem and cloud solutions built from Vizrt Group’s products.

You will be part of our Product Management team and provide structured input via requirements and documented configurations to the R&D teams who build, automate, deliver, test and document the solution packages. He works embedded in the Product Managment team closely with the product managers to influence the product roadmaps and maintain the solu-tion’s roadmap as well as their business cases.

 

What You'll Do:

    Given a set of business requirements, create the structures of a solution based on Vizrt Group’s products that can be validated to meet those requirements
    Given the functional and non-functional requirements, define a solution that meets the stated requirements using Vizrt and industry standard methodologies, procedures and tools
    Given a set of Vizrt Groups products, assess the market and customer requirements to define reusable use cases and workflows that are candidates to form a financially and technically viable solution and derive the configuration parameters and gaps.
    Given requirements and a list of stakeholders, identify approaches, tools, techniques, and technologies to meet the requirements, and explain the present and future rationale so that stakeholders accept the choices and agree with the rationale
    Determine, document, and communicate architectural decisions to support and rationalize the design of the solution
    Install, configure and troubleshoot solutions in an efficient and professional manner with the goal to build a “golden master” setup and document the setup thoroughly
    Collaborate with the infrastructure team to perform systematical performance testing, in particular in public cloud
    Calculate and optimize the TCO characteristics of the solutions
    Participate in design workshops, development and test activities at Vizrt’s R&D locations or at customer’s location
    Manage the roadmap of the solutions and contribute to the roadmap planning of the involved products
    Collect feedback from PoC activities, other tests, customer installations etc. and derive enhancements and modifications of the solutions
    Review functionality provided by products or developed by R&D, to ensure that the functionality works as designed, with high quality
    Assess the technical integrity and risks inherent in a solution in the context of a business requirement, so that the proposed recommendations are appropriate and implementable
    Plan and estimate the time needed for the completion of various tasks
    Maintain broadcast industry knowledge to advise on technical trends and techniques and apply them to the development of solution designs

 

What you bring:

    Technical degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent is required, Master's degree preferred
    3+ years’ experience as a technical Solutions Architect working in a broadcast environment
    3+ years’ experience of systems design in a technical field, preferably broadcast
    Deep technical and workflow knowledge of broadcast environments required
    Experience designing software integrations using REST and SOAP API’s, XML, JSON
    Knowledge of modern IP broadcast technologies such as 2110 and NDI is preferred
    Knowledge of public cloud architectures and patterns is preferred
    Knowledge of Vizrt and/or Newtek products preferred
    Experience and relevant certifications in storage, networking and cloud architectures
    Fluency in English, both written and oral, is a must
